Graffiti Saved My Life

During my excursion down to the south side of Chicago, I met up with a couple of friends to see the Meeting of Styles, live graffiti show. Many people gathered to watch local graffiti artist and writers do their thing on massive amount of wall space. I was impressed how grand scale these pieces were. Later in the night, we stopped at Rumble Arts Community Center in Humbolt Park where local and outside artist displayed their work. One of whom I met based from L.A., graffiti artist, VyalONE.

Vyal had some interesting pieces of different characters displayed on wood and a skate deck. The exaggerated, goolish facial expression were a familiar reminiscence of the old japanese Kabuki masks.

Vyal is the original creator of the Graffiti Saved My Life shirts, go check out his work.
